In all technicality, Ronin are KINDA unemployed Samurai, but if a Samurai becomes a Ronin, they can't just walk up to a Daimyo and ask for a job; Ronin are wandering Samurai because their master is dead, or they did a horrible horrible deed and, thus, were stripped of their title as Samurai, but not their talents.And, again, in the Bakumatsu, there were only Ronin, not Samurai, and Ronin were few and far between... There is a definable line between Ronin and Samurai.

Ronin are not Samurai. I agree with Dragonoftheseas. But it's an easy mistake. And, don't forget, when the Bakumatsu ended, there WEREN'T any Samurai, so... yeah... ^^; Either way I don't think an argument is needed here...

-sighs- No, imbecile. Kenshin is a ronin from the Bakumatsu (but of course you don't know a word of what I'm saying, do you?) and Kaoru teaches Kamiya Kasshin Ryu-the sword the protects. It's sorta like the story of a 'hero forgotten by history' thing. Either way, read the manga, I, personally, hate the anime and the OVAs make the characters OOC (I mean, Kaoru cooking CORRECTLY without anything blowing up!? It's absurd). So please, KNOW what the hell you're talking about before commenting, 'kay?
