This is particulary fun. Spartans are brave, but persians look cool too. Persians have some kind of monsters :D The fat guy, cyclop etc. Anyway I calculated that 300 men each of them have to kill approximately 3333 persians to defeat a million. Kinda impossible. Some parts of the film were unrealistic, but I liked it.

Darius I attacked Greece 490BC Battle of Marathon by Athens and was defeated in his attempt to conquer Greece. His son Xerxes then tried to avenge his father's loss during his reign and was also defeated by a combined Greek force. Darius the III was defeated by Alexander the Great and his Macedonian Greeks about 100 years later.

I could be wrong...But I though Alexander the Great fought King Darius and defeated him....Xerxes is actually the Son of Darius...So this instance took place well after the fact.....Like I said I could be wrong.

I have to agree....Who cares about the historical accuracy. I am not in this for an overall history lesson. I think th emovie is awesome and I watch it very frequently.....SPARTANS............PREPARE FOR GLORY!

I know 300 is silly and historically inaccurate, and the Spartans were actually a nasty bunch; I do not care. All I know is I can't watch the moment where he says "We will stand and fight" without shuddering. That's what this film is about - an incredible human feat and a clash of civilisations.

I liked the movie, but fact is historically it was way off.There were more then 4000+ Greeks that fought to hold Thermopylae, not only Spartans.... and also there were about 1500+ that stood with the Spartans to the very end.
