YES! Ike Turner -and his producer for "rocket 88" Mr. Sam Phillips, who decided that he liked the "fuzz sound" in the "malfunctioning" amp that Turner's band brought in. Combine Ike Turner's truly rocking arrangement with Sam Phillips' sound and you have the birth of Rock n Roll. (and ... we're back to Elvis again because Phillips produced Presley in 1954 using all he had learned from recording Turner and others...)

In my estimation, the Comets sounded much better with the Jodimars stuff. I don't mean Rudy Pompilli was a bad sax player, but I believe the sound with Joey D'Ambrosia was wilder
