For me, Vincent Price, was one of the most amazing actors ever! And Edgar Allan Poe, my favorite writer.

Well with the way Depp potrayed Sweeny Todd I think he could handle Poe's character pretty well, It really would be interesting to see Depp trying his hand at a one man performance like Price does here.

Alot of people talk about Depp doing this and I think that could be interesting. I think Depp might do well with his Dark Shadows deal. What I would see Depp doing well on is a remake of the old Dr. Phibes stories. I was an avid believer that Price would, eventually do another of those, but never did. I thought that the Phibes character was as unique as any created. Though, obviously, many seem to disagree. I think it just needs a new umph, and that character could be as popular as Hannibal.

Maybe he was of a hospice program. I'm not sure and I think that that was a part of Poe's game for the reader. I really do believe that Poe's main game was to screw with the reader and that in and of it's self made him unique in his time and up to his time. I know of no other that had ever made and succeeded in that manner (again, up to his time). Not sure even King has done so well. Though, Kings done pretty well for his time.

Better be glad you commented and changed to "Mad". "Mad" keeps you from my wrath. Reason I say that is "mentally challenged" sounds like he needs some Ridilan, Zoloft or Prozac. Where "Mad" sounds more like he needs to leave the "Edgar" stuff alone. "Mad" sounds more appropriate. My opinion is that Price is so good here because he's the kinda guy that you would trust and is so scary in this situation because you learn almost too late what he really is. And this is my favorite Poe tale. |
