I've read all of them.

And which version did you read? You might not know me, but I, personally, have defended Mormons from people who say "You suck and ought to die." That sort of nonsense isn't the least bit helpful.I know that most Mormons are honest, hardworking people who value family and friends. I'm completely fine with that. My problem is that the tripe you're taught is an evolving mess of lies, inaccuracies, and contradictions.

I have read Joseph Smith's account of the First Vision many times and don't see your point about hatred. My comment about tolerance and truth wasn't aimed at you directly because I haven't had enough interaction with you to make any kind of judgment. I was speaking generally. I find it fascinating that you can't believe that a non-Mormon would defend the Mormon faith, however. That was the original point. You automatically claiming someone is a liar for that reason.

Why would you? What sense does make?If you don't like hatred and intolerance, you should read Smith's account of the First Vision before you knock on someone else's door. I've already quoted it adnauseum and won't do it any more. You want tolerance and truth? I've done nothing but, yet you're still playing the victim role. That's undermining your own position.

Is it possible to get his own response? There is no better or bad answer.
lds9999 (September 25, 2008 at 12:32 pm)
Why not? Can someone who is not a member of the Church defend it as well?I think most Mormons don't like the fact that there is so much hatred and untolerance, or that people distort our doctrines to the point that they are almost indistinguisable. We do our best to treat others with tolerance and we also seek out all truth, and we ask people to treat us with tolerance and with truth.

There are currently 13 million members of the Church. In response to your question, I think there are lots of reasons why people may stop attending. I believe that a testimony is something that must be continually nourished and grown. Even if we've had spiritual experiences in the past, if we stop praying, stop reading the word of God, stop keeping the commandments--then that testimony can fade.

In the LDS Church, only men hold the priesthood. This authority is by which individuals are baptized into the LDS Church. If you believe it is true and want to join, does it matter who does the baptizing, as long as it is by the right authority?

3 million plus members pray and ask "if this is true and recieve an answer from GOD " which leads me to ask a question. to thosewho left the church. 1.how is it that one loses his or her testimony if they ever recieved one ?

I would like to be baptized by woman. I sent a video to the LDS affair and he didn't get a response from him yet. |
