the first time i saw this movie i was tripping on 9 hits of blouder acid. it was the most amazing thing i have ever witnesed. such a great film

the point of the movie was to sacrifice himself to save the others.when he was watchingthem all dieing and sitting next to his dead girlfriend he knew he was going to die.thats why he didnt bother taking his sister

I think that try to understand at 100% donnie darko is just pointless. There is nothing entirely clear in the movie. Is just an awsome surrealistic audiovisual experiencie. Is just great. The only thing we have to do is enjoy it. (Sorry for my bad english)

ok so the really the only thing that doesnt make any sense to me is why is it that he can only change the future from one point (that point being the jet engine falling in his room). I mean he knows whats going to happen that ruins the others lives or kill them.

so why cant he try and change things there? I remerber him talking about god's path but that didnt make a heck of alot of sense to me either. How does he know that god only laid out 2 possible paths for him? 1 which he dies and 1 which everyone else dies. isn't there some kind of predestination complex or somthing liek that. I just dont understand why he can only make the one choice?! please explain this to me. I probably won't be satisfied with any simple answer either jsut to warn you.
