lulz. Spoken truthfully. People gain the wrong perception because of their inability to comprehend the actions of Anon. This is of course spawned from a deeper inability to think in general. Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power...

wot the fuk all u need to know is catholosis is good church iof england is mis lead but good still, scientology is bad it threatens everyone in their saftly, islam is known to be a new relioin and is at this momnet threterning safty of engl;and but scientology is the more of the evil islam and extream islam is the lesserevil of the two.

Something you seem to be forgetting is that Islam, and every other major organised religion, does not have a central hierarchy with one leader at the top who makes all the decisions...When that one leader is irrational, exploitative, and dangerous problems emerge almost immediately. Both of Scientology's leaders thus far have been this way.The crux of your argument seems to be that one shouldn't do something to stop abuses in one area if they aren't doing something to stop it everywhere...
Shahate (October 5, 2008 at 11:28 am)
Glad that we agree about the exploitative and dangerous part...so you think that Scientology is neither of these things? You do seem to be confusing me with those protesting though, i don't personally stand anywhere behind a mask - i just document those who do. So do you think that the majority of Muslims are good people who are charitable and seek to make the world a better place through their faith? Because i certainly do, despite a minority of people who use the religion for wrong.

I don't hate religion in all forms. I hate religion which is irrational and exploitative and dangerous and I don't consider the established ones to be somehow immune from that kind of scrutiny simply because people get more emotional and irrational about it when you point these things out.

I would say the same thing in public and do. I just think this anonymous activity is distasteful and hypocritical. If you were standing in masks outside a synagogue or a mosque or a church you'd be rightly condemned, and yet I fail to see any significant difference in either their beliefs of practises as compared to scientology. There seems to be some kind of street-cred attached to doing it when the religion is too small and/or young to be considered established and legitimate.

Continued...Moral Cowardice? You mean along the lines of posting comments here and not actually doing anything about your convictions? In the end, all that matters is whether or not YOU are doing something about the causes you harp on about...are you? If not, why should anybody listen to you? Even though this is a very badly veiled attempt at trolling, i'm interested in what you have done other than write some poorly informed words? What you mention about Islam is in the vast minority. |
