"What I've Done" by Linkin Park set to clips from the 2007 Transformers movie, with the main focus on Optimus Prime.A view of how I think this new movie and universe portrayed Prime. (For the short amount of screen time that he actually had.)Now that the movie is out on DVD I will be in the process of remaking this in a higher quality with few changes thrown in.

That's close to my whole point. Even in the book, which tells in greater detail, Optimus never objects to the Allspark being taken into the city. While if Optimus were really out to protect the humans over all else he should have taken the Allspark and the Autobots back to the Ark the moment they caught up with Bumblebee. But then Bay couldn't have turned the movie into human heroics, could he?

He didn't seem very reluctant about taking the AllSpark into Metro City, which is bursting at the seams with potential human casualties. :SSpeaking of Bumblebee's capture, why does Prime give him an honorable eulogy just for being captured, while all he gives Jazz after his death is "aaaw, Jazz..."? *lol*

There is actually plenty to interpret here. The whole of the song is dealing with having to do something he's not wanting to do. Which is every action Optimus takes in the movie. Bumblebee's capture being one of the biggest. In which he basically sacrifices Bumblebee to retrieve the glasses.

Despite all the time I spent making these music videos I actually found the Prime of the live action to quite wishywashy. In that one moment he's so protective of the humans that he allows one of only 5 Autobots that he knows of to be taken possibly to his death and the next allowing the Allspark to be taken into a highly civilian populated area. I can't ever have seen the original (and best) Prime to ever have sacrificed one his own to hostile humans.

Too bad Optimus Prime was careful about hurting the humans and destroying their city, because if it was like in an adandoned desert, he would of owned Megatron! That's what I think.
