Dylan have a special voice thats no doubt about that, and he dont take all the notes perfect. BUT thats dosent matter because he sings with a passion and felling that no other artist has. He makes magic with words. Not many artist can that even if they sing ten times "better".

how can people say Dylans voice isn't that good? Can you imagine anyone singing his songs? Many artists did and they never improved on his songs. The Byrds got it completley wrong with Mr Tambourine Man, Hendrix made All Along The Watchtower overblown and laughable, Peter Paul and Mary killed Blowin in The Wind, Hendrix killed Rolling Stone at Monterey, Lennon wanted to sing like Dylan. Dylans voice is underrated if you ask me. His roughness and lack of beauty in his vocals makes it so great.

Poet? ummmm ok if i want poetry i'll go read poetry. When i listen to music i want the sound to encompass me for fuck sakes! That's why we have musicians and poets! Luckily for Dylan i love his voice, i love his guitar playing, he wrote brilliant melodies. His debut album recorded in 1961 is one of my favourite albums of all time. So raw and sounds so pure. No bullshit, and this version sounds lightyears ahead of The Animals overblown organ driven pompas bullshit. Dylan recorded it perfectly.

You really have to remember though that dylan was a poet first, and he didnt care what people though of his music. You can't really put him into a genre, its just Bob Dylan. Even though his voice isnt the best its unique and it still creates a strong attraction to him. I think Bob Dylan is one of the best artists of all time, but not only for his music, but for what an intresting person he really is.
