Why is it promoted as a successor to the original nords, when this is a completely different keyboard, just in the same shell.

Yeah if you want to have totally useless sounds that you cant use for professional music. The sounds are great but like half of Roland sounds, they are useless to use. The FM7/8 is more useful as an FM and the Arturia soft synths. The Virus wacks over 190 envelopes and doesn't crash like the NI soft synth on stage. The nord also has a unique sound of its own.

This thing is not even close to Native Instrument's Massive, which is the best synth available, hardware or software.

oh yes there is, the step modulator on the roland v synth destroyss everything nord that ive heard so far. id like to get a dave smith evolver next to my v synth to see how they compare though. evolving sequences arent the thing that the v synth is hyped for but It does a great job- four sequences of variable length mapped to any parameter. just a shame theres hardly any v synth vids on youtune. im gonna have to get a decent vid camera to show the world what its capable of. |
