In a chute? I doubt it, what's the glide ration on those things, 5:1 at most? Not enough to make use of thermals.

A parachute for a gyrocopter? Gyrocopters are one of the safest aircraft in the world since gyros are flown in a autorotational state...Google gyrocopter aerodynamics for more info.
