A large proportion of the famous heavy metal guitarists were trained in classical guitar. A few that come to mind are Dave Mustaine, Kirk Hammet, and the guys from Evergrey (I think).

This is a beautiful piece. Makes me wish I could play classical guitar.I find it very cool how Iron Maiden used the main theme of the intro in the song "To Tame a Land". Just goes to show you that heavy metal musicians don't just listen to other metal and rock.
