i can't believe people are having a go at sonic youth with regards to their guitar proficiency, they are ultra creative and spawned a guitar movement, they are far more relevant than any steve vai of satriani. Their diverse tuning is so painstaking, they spent years perfecting a certain sound that is easily recognisable. I think they are the best guitar band i have ever seen apart from television. A bold statement, however the relevance and the diversity of their sound justifies that statement
