If you could watch basketball in a photo realistic way but from any angle with a crowd of people present would that not be better than just a tv feed? It is of course never going to be better than being there in real life, but TV is not the absoulute best way IMHOVirtual worlds are not about isolation but connecting people who are not able to be in the same place at the same time.

they do compared to high end games, but.... its things that can change in real time and anyone can build, (and its 2 years old now) The gfx will improve in virtual worlds like this, just as the web has improved. The really important part now is the people, people connect immersed in content

its a virtual world, 3d interaction over the web, not specifically a game and part of a massive change in the industry.Of course you could just google it :-)

its was 2 years ago a proof oc concept in SL of delivering data into the virtual world from the real world. I was not filming a crowd scene though would have liked to.The key elements here let us see what what was possible and we went into 2007 and did a better more public version.Metaverses still have a way to go but this extended the pure web presence
