I guess you're right? But even if the firefighting-routines have changed, the fires hasn't! The smoke could still kill you. It's a great movie, but not enough smoke. Maybe on Brian's first fire when they open the doors. But no the rest of it. I go to a "Rescue -high school", roughly translated, and I've been fighting fires! You can barely see your hand in front of you. Sure, that wouldn't be a good movie! And about them not wearing it: First scene where their father was killed: NOBODY GOT ONE!

Ok for all the people talking about the SCBA situation. The movie was made in 1991 which was 17 years ago. Firefighting has changed significantly since then. They didn't were SCBA regularly until the mid to late 90's. Watch some old time fire vid's on here and you'll see. Shit most city Dept's don't even pack up for car fires or even when there on the roof opening up. It was alot different back then but yet still the same in ways. But no matter what Backdraft is a great Movie non the less.

minuto 2.31. Hay que ver como se parece al tema de la pelicula "la roca".Aunque ambas bandas sonoras son del mismo autor, asi que se "homenageara a si mismo"
