Firstly, it's a thunderbird, the firebird is the guitar version of the thunderbird bass; secondly if you can easily afford the gibson, then get it, if not and you just want a decent beginners rock bass, go for the epi.

Well it's my bass... I should know!Epiphones are noticeably poorer quality, the wood is normally darker and there's less of a contrast between the body and the face of the neck than on Gibsons. Plus it has "Epiphone" written on the headstock... And costs about $2000 less. |
