Actually you never look at your fingers. If you're reading a score (like the orchestra) and you take your eyes off it, you'll lose your place. Even the flutists don't look at their fingers.

He's playing that song since he's a kid. After 30+ years of mastering a song like this, you won't look at your fingers no more. You just feel it.
