I definitely prefer the studio version as well, but this song is much better than Starless.

Ahhhh, the good 'ol '70s YES concert with the original revolving round stage. The good 'ol day! The greatest progressive rock band ever!

I've gotta say, I'm a touch disappointed by the generally sluggish and inconsistent tempo. I mean, yeah, they're clearly great musicians, but it would have been nice to see a little more consistency. This is and will likely remain one of my favorite prog songs (still can't compete with Starless, I'm afraid, but what can?), but I definitely prefer the studio version.

there is a real good chance I was at this very concert, things are foggy from that era. btw, the spectrum be demolished next year to make way for an entertainment complex (IE: MALL!)

I love this band. Close to the edge was my first ever record (make that 8 track tape). Someone mentioned thier tour with Black Sabbath, I was at that show - my first rock concert, Wild Turkey? was also on the bill. I saw them a total of 4 times, the last show being in the late 70's possibly this show. Yes made an impression and I always gravitated to progressive rock afterwards, Rush & Kansas my other favorites. And, my god I can't believe they are not in the hall of fame. Cheers Glen - Rock On

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I totally agree with you. There are many artists who haven't been inducted who should be. This is one band who deserves to be there. Have to say ...WOW, how I envy you... seeing them at their prime and opening for Black Sabbath. Those were the days...hey? Cheers. Keep Rocking !!

Wish I had the priviledge of seeing these guys in concert in my lifetime. Relishing the down loads, so thanks to everyone's postings. Cheers from Down Under. XX
