And right now, it's the Cuban government that's keeping its people from leaving to get a better life. and if you gave them a real choice between a life under Raul Castro or under a democracy, they'd surely pick the latter.

i'm not talking about socialism, i'm talking about totalinarianism. when a government suppresses any dissent among its ppl it abuses its powers. and then electing castro as leader for life: this leaves him and every one of his successors carte-blanche power that history tells us will be against the interest of Cuba. And all the rhetoric about the principles of the revolution. Cuba claimed it would be the leader of the third world. And then it alligned itself with the Soviet Union superpower

"Executions? Certainly we execute," he told the United Nations General Assembly in 1964. "And we will continue executing as long as it is necessary." "To execute a man we don't need proof of his guilt," he advised a subordinate, "we only need proof that it's necessary to execute him""a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate." all are Che Guevara's own words.

you're completly overdoing it by comparing che to hitler or stalin...socialism has flaws, but so does capitalism... it worked in Cuba, it's people were never locked inside it's walls... thoses "50 years" you talk about, were the years of the embargo... before the revolution, people were poor, uneducated, and without propper healthcare and the social distinction was huge... now they are just poor, but it's not Cuba's fault, it's the USA's fault =/
