It may be true that a new set of battery cost thousands. However, the used battery salvaged from crashed Prius in junk yard is going for about $700 to $1000 in current market. Since Toyota covers the battery for 10 years and 150K miles, there is actually no after market for the battery. I won't buy from the junk yard until my Toyota warranty expires. I guess by 2014, the used battery price may rise, but by then mass production and better manufacturing will drive the new battery price down.

Which hybrid is that? Duracell brand? That may be true for the American made model. If you buy Toyota, the warranty on the hybrid system including the battery is 150K miles and 10 years whichever come first. There are now close to a million Prius on the Road, if what you heard is true, people would have stopped buying the car a few years back. The fact is that it is becoming the most popular car. Believe what you heard or just open your eyes next time you walk on the street.

Weve been so stupid to allow major car makers to hold us ransom to outdated technology like we have. Some of those prototypes look sweet I want one!!DD

Its a shame we are still reduced to use a 100 year old technology when the last century has been the biggest thechnological jump in human evolution. I certainly hope that mighty India will lead the way into a new transportation era. We must not underestimate ourselves, this advancement obviously possible. Air is the most vital element, it only makes sense.

Quote "MDI has been playing the greenies for the engineering-challenged children they are for over 10 years and they've made a fortune selling bogus dealerships, worthless manufacturing rights, advance payments for non-existent cars, and lots of stock with a ZERO price-to-earnings ratio(wow!). The air car will never be built because it doesn't perform."

It depends on how you define "world". Most Americans believe world means US only, then what you said is true. If you include the real world, then you should read the news about Tata Motors signing contract with MDI to use the technology. Tata Motor recently purchased Jaguar so they should be serious. You may see a compressed air powered Jaguar soon. I'm just kidding. But they may not.

this is almost only on youtube because major countries dont want the oil industry to lose its record profits their making, otherwise this would already be on the market. this is how our world is run today. it's practical corrupt.
