www.ted.com In one of the most beloved talks from TED2007, novelist Isabel Allende talks about writing, women, passion, feminism. She tells the stories of powerful women she has known, some larger-than-life (listen for a beauty tip from Sophia Loren), and some simply living with grace, dignity and ingenuity in a world that, in too many ways, still treats women unjustly.

It's an excellent video, it motivates and everything but after it's over, an extreme feeling of "what now?"-ness kicks in. She's talking in an incredible manner about nothing at all, which is actually ingenious.Women are not equal to men, as a liter of hydrogen is not equal to a hammer. We have different roles to play and paths to take. "Just do the thing you're good at and stop bitching" would have actually made more sense to me than this whole video.Still I respect the poetry she creates

I don't see how you can perceive her marvellous speech like that...I really don't. She opens up for males to participate in a strife for an equal society..in terms of condition. I think this is an excellent video.

If this is a feminist, I'll marry one. <3

that would be a little hard to accomplish, but hey! it's our world, we're responsible for it.Nevertheless changes are beginning to happen, especially, as always, within the young generation. No time to criticize the mistakes of the past now. We've got to view the world in a positive way and act accordingly.

What if, by some "accident", those grave cases are maintained that way even with the help of some women? Study history very carefully. Women also supported men in their stupid ambitions of conquering and dividing. That's enough for both of them!Women or men? The same deceitful mind, thirsty for power, public image and money. The answer lies not in the gender. The answer is a revolution. A world revolution of human Conscience! Not by guns, not by politics or economics, not by facade charity!

I'm Argentinan (that country next to Chile, a little bit bigger :S) Anyway, I love the way she keeps her chilean accent even talking in english, that shows her nationalism. I do admire her :).
