What a great story. This is what "true love" is all about. Making sacrifices for one another, unconditional love. Thank you for sharing this wonderful couple with the world!

Their farm is OK, folks. Lloyd's new car did get totalled from the flood waters, but all else is OK. He was buying books from my mom as usual this past weekend. (Thanks, Lloyd!)

Anybody know if the Dickmanns got through the recent flooding in Wisconsin?

What an incredible place to visit! This story reminds me of the fellow that mowed down his crop to build a baseball field! "If you build it, they will come!" I hope to get there soon!

What strikes me is how unique and happy their lifestyle is. The best way to be happy is to not feel like you have to live where and how everyone else lives. American society is rich/diverse/sophisticated enough so that we all don't have to be living in little boxes on the hilltop made of ticky-tack all looking just the same.

I found out about this place sometime last year in the paper and I've been going back every few saturdays. When me and my mother showed up there today we were shocked to find a dozen cars and everyone talking about them being on television.I have a copy of Dr. Dickmann's book in a place of honor on my bookshelf. I heartily reccomend it to anyone that visits. It's a truely amazing place.
