She's an asshole. He was trying to be cool in the beginning....but like the asshole that she is, she keeps pushing and pushing. I'm glad he blew up on her. The movie sucked anyway.

I remember thinking he was such an asshole when I first watched this clip, but seeing it again now, I see that Lily Tomlin was being very disrespectful and difficult to work with. If I was David, I wouldn't have casted her in the first place, but when you're in the middle of a difficult shoot, it doesn't help to have someone constantly questioning your ability.

lmao!! i can understand his frustration, i mean like.. he even stated, hes been working on this for 3 years.. and if you spot something you would like to change, it would be prety fucked if someone gave you shit over it. as far as my opinion goes, this was davids movie, and it turned out fucking awsome

This just shows you how backward Hollywood is. It seemed to me there were several men in the room and not one of them did anything when he called her a bunch of bad names, they just sat there. Director or not someone should have said "Don't talk to her like that" They are all a bunch of baby's.

Lily Tomlin isn't arrogant, she's just trying to follow David Russell's direction, but he keeps changing his mind about things whenever he feels like it, hiding behind "artistic perfectionism." Like I said before, David Russell is the only baby in the room. |
