Actually the reason for the raptors maneuverability is the military is predicting fighter combat to come full circle to one on one gun dog fighting. If both aircraft are undetectable you are gonna need to get close enough to get a visual ID and use guns.

I saw a program on Discovery about the F22. 1 F22 defeated 4 F15's, more than once in mock battles. 2 F22's defeated 8 F15's easily... the reason? Stealth technology, according to the test pilots interviewed. maneuverability means nothing if you cant "see" your enemy..i think that says it all?

to all you people that are complaining over this plane to another, are you even pilots? or even a private pilot atleast
maulerrw (October 7, 2008 at 12:42 pm)
yes what are all you buffoons babbling on about???the f22 kicks arse over anything else currently in existence, thats just the facts. it can out maneuver any other aircraft there is, the exception being ironman.whinge and rage as much as you want, but hardware is hardware, and no matter what you say it changes nothing....when does being able to do flat spins come into the picture when looking at the performance of a fighter anyway???? oh nup, scrap it, cant do flat spins >_> FAIL

ok b4 any of you say the rapter cant do flat spins i just watched the s.o.b at an air show yesterday an he went into a flat spin and had coplete control he even turned it left to right to show us how he had complete control b4 accelerating away and besides they said they cant show us everything the rapter does because its classified

'Not sure where you're going with this one.'The point of showing the Hawker Hunter v F22 is that the F22 seems to have a very nasty flat spin tendency which generate very high yaw rates very quickly. From looking at the F22 spin recovery video it looks like the F22 would probably spin even faster than this F14watch?v=z7VS9_Ce0sg F22 is definitely not an aircraft that will be spun routinely unlike the Hawker Hunter.

Not sure where you're going with this one. About a 30 second 45 degrees nose down spin for the classic HH, vs a short spin recovery for the 22? Not sure the purpose or value of your post. Perhaps that one was extra bandwidth you wished you never wasted on the world? Although, rather interesting historical appreciation of the Hunter, no question. So if anything, worth the watch m8.Cheers- |
