Great singers of Russia's world famous Bolshoi Opera.... From the thirties to the sixties two tenors: Ivan Kozlovsky and Sergei Lemeshev were friendly rivals for public popularity. Both sing the "Lensky Aria" from "Eugene Onegin" (Pyotr Tchaikovsky 1879)

Lol, this guy's a bit of a top note queen. Very good though! A bit of throat tension at the bottom and a bit more cover needed around the F.Prefer Wunderlich.

I've just listened to both the Kozlovsky and the Lemeshev versions. Both are very good. Kozlovsky takes a few musical liberties which make it interesting. But over all I think I like the Lemeshev version better. To people who are used to Italian or even German vocal production this may sound a bit different to what your used to hearing. But as I said I really like this version. This is such a beautiful aria and so haunting. Thanks for posting.

Did you ever hear Anton Dermota's version of this aria? It's even better, and, for me, unsurpassable!

Would someone please please put lyrics for this song here in Russian? Or at least show way to them in the net.

The best! I heard almost all interpretations on youtube and can firmly say that nobody sings this aria better than he.
