This post is true with the beats holding him back. 100 % truth. However, you're breaking my heart with the mobb deep shit fam. Though the album i named was nothing spectacular, theyre my fave artists

I agree with you man... Those beats are horrible, let's face it. I think that he do not choose the flyest beats to keep people attention on the lyrics. But that's just my opinion. Great lyricist but hey. Look at Cube's last albums.. I mean that everyone goes for the money, but not Cube. He has earned cash already and now he is still making some real ambitious, and it still sounds perfect. I love his old shit, but 2 newest albums are just perfect. I dig every single track.

LOL, wats up man!?!? I came back to listen to the song and you were still on here defending your claim about the Dips! I can get down with all of the albums people have been naming except for Mobb Deep though. They can't win a beef for shit, but they're cool. And I like Nas alot, but the only albums I really bump are Illmatic, It Was Written, and Stillmatic. I think his albums would be alot better if he could get some better beats. His beats are the only thing really holding him back.

preach my brother. this is real spit. While It Was Written was nice, a classic in my books, and Stillmatic was great, his other albums are quite average. Yet people act like he's immortal and everything he touches is good. When I see those ratings on Amazon about Jay albums like Vol.2 and Mobb Albums like Infamy, I feel disgusted of the dickriding on Nas. One of my favourites, but to me his catalogue isnt even as deep as Ghostface. The nerve to say Streets Disciple > DI.

all of a sudden he hit us with this political shit, not that its bad, but his fans were thrown away by it. He steady suffocatin' us with it and we aint all behind him. That "hip hop is dead" shit was the worst thing he could have done in his career. Not only did he put a target on his back but he ostercized himself from the general hip hop community. His new route is very courageous and does spark controversy but all this takes away from the content of his records. Chunk a deuce

Exactly, Nas has reached the "iconic" level and is constantly dubbed a true MC. When truth be told his quality of music has been depreciating ever since illmatic. Im not knockin on a niggah but damn, its like NaS is on some petestil and cannot be critiqued or let alone compared to another MC. Shit thats why im a Jay fan, atleast with him I can expect consistantcy in his records. The reason why i think NaS fell off is because he didnt make a good transition from god son to nigger.
