He was our pastor at St. Thomas Aquinas in Zanesville, Ohio in the early 80's. A wonderful person and a good priest! I have taken many trips to Somerset to visit the old priory and to visit the graves there of so many I have known theough the years. I certainly wish Fr. Scordo well-if you see him tell him I enjoyed the film! Susan Rosta (Pugh) at the time I knew him. Veritas!

Is that Fr. Joe Scordo in the opening scene?

In the 1965 edition of the Mass the prayers of the foot of the altar are eliminated during High Mass, if I'm not mistaken. It is hard to say exactly when that started and where since everything after the Council was generally innovated gradually all the way up to the New Mass.

The Order of mass was started right after Vacitcan 2. 64-65... however many priests used the old order for a while. Several Orders use St. Augustine rule rather than have there own. like say the franciscans. Nothing wrong with it... It a good rule...

Just to clarify, when did the "transition Missal" enter into the liturgy (ie that with the elimination of the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar, etc)? Was that during 1965?

Nice excerpts, very interesting to note the differences between the Dominican Rite and the Roman Rite. I'm guessing that with Vatican II this right was also "reformed."

Why did St. Dominic not write his own rule, as well as St. Norbert for the O Praems.?
