Voivod isn't a bass band, check out Flotsam & Jetsam for Newsted's bass skills. I don't think Burton would be able to pull off some of the things he did in that band. I personally think Burton is overrated, other then a few moments here and there he didn't do much interesting. Also, Katorz is like Metallica's Load, a horrible representation. Check out Killing Technology, the riffs on there are mind blowing.

mmmm i dont think so because i just dont like voivod and x-stream made me not like them their riffs are so easy i could create a better bass line metallica i couldnt compare to that if only burton were still alive today

Voivod is much better then Metallica. A helluva lot more original too, I've never heard another band that sounded anything like them, while Metallica ripped off Diamond Head and Metal Church. How can someone not appreciate Killing Technology, Dimension Hatross, or Nothingface? Newsted's a great songwriter too, check out Flotsam & Jetsam for proof, too bad Metallica were retarted and didn't let him write anything.

i was listening when killing technology came out waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before jason. I think it's cool he's in this band though rather than selloutica.
