Correct it was 1988 - we didn't hear it much in the US but I was a visiting college student in London and saw it on a music show during its sixth week as the #1 song in the UK. and of course heard it constantly on Capitol Radio. The only time I heard it in the US was a blurb on MTV, a dance show hosted by Downtown Julie Brown. Glad I bought the 45 single at the Tower Records while I was there.

I wish this was played more often in clubs nowadays. It's so brilliant. Brings back lots of nostalgia. I was about 13 when this was out.

Back when this, jellybean and taylor dayne were rockin the clubs. Wish we could go back to those days. I remember LWR were playing the alan coulthard DMC mix of this with rose royse's R R express which was a beast. Wish i could find that on youtube.
