Yes, but livestock production causes more greenhouses gas emissions than all the cars, trucks, buses and planes together (the entire transport industry), according to the UN report on livestock called 'Livestock's Long Shodow'

Growing livestock causes mass deforestation for grazing and growing grains for feed, ground pollution, erosion, massive methane emissions (very bad greenhouse gas), extremely high grain prices (30% of global supply are fed to livestock), not biofuels(which is only 5%). And the problem is that for every 7kg of vegetable protein we feed to livestock, we only get 1kg of animal protein back, yet millions of people are starving. |
