THIS MAKES MY BLOOD RUSH. WONDERFULL THEY REALLY PUT ALOT OF ENERGY INTO THIS, AND ANYONE WHO CRITISISE THIS, BETTER BE FAMILIAR WITH THE CULTURE OF TAIKO AND ACTUALLY PRACTICE, I ALSO PRACTICE KENDO AND LIVE IN JAPAN FOR A LONG TIME, BUT NOW THAT IM FAR AWAY FROM THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN IT MAKES ME REGRET THE FACT THAT I DIDNT APRECIATE AS MUCH ITS CULTURE AS I SHOULD HAVE, GUEES I GOT CAUGHT up WITH THE NIGHT LIFE IN ROPPONGi, DEFINETLY GOING BACK TO JAPAN, KAMPAI

i noticed that they also used a considerable amount of kakagoe in this performance as well. but you have to remember something... they performed nonstop pounding drums for seven minutes. have you tried to do that? it's not easy. esp for the two drummers on the big central drum - b/c the head is so large, it requires very, very strong strokes. the kakagoe helps to build strength and keeps the intensity of the piece. its also why martial artists use it. its the spirit.

They seem to work themselves into a trance then into a savage frenzy. Beautiful

hahaha. Japanese fire dragons burning through the terror, destroying all that was left of the ashes of tyranny. Justice and liberty throbbing in the veins of humans, defiant to the end, victorious for our ancestors.

Too much kakagoe!? Yeah that's how we do here in the Frisco City. The Old World gave us this wonderful gift and we are returning the art how we see it right. Savage beasts will eat you alive like tigers escaped from a zoo.Investigate 911. |
