A video I created from historical pictures and paintings about the American Civil War, I collected online to the sound of GNR´s "Civil War". I think, it was one of the best songs they ever made - but the videos I found on U-Tube don´t transport the message, like I feel it was originally intented. I hope you like it...

Good point, they had a captain Wierz *spelling?* that ran Andersonville prison for the south, if I remember right they executed him for war crimes after the war, he was german i think and was a staunch confederate.

the largest immigration groups around that time i think were the irish and germans. Alot of irish lived in new york area. Alot of the germans moved into the midwest such as milwaukee. So yes alot of irish did fight but they werent the only ones. Alot of germans did fight and countless other nationalities.

he says "in my first memories they shot kennedy" but while he's saying that its showing a pic of lincoln being shot. does anyone else think that's kinda strange?

On a side ntoe i would imagine that the majority of 'foreigners' fought for the north as opposed to the south, physical labor is what drew the irish and such to the north who had factories and such, now as for the south they did not as much rely on manufacturing.

For sure there were entire regiments but being the biggest group? I dont think that they were the majority of fighters, you had germans, polish, english, french fighting, so in a way it was a civil war that involved people that made this country.
