Ten years ago an inexpensive, comfortable, well-built car like the 2007 Toyota Yaris would have been a slam dunk. In fact, it was a slam dunk. It was called the Corolla and it was one of the best-selling compact sedans of its time. But over the last decade, compact sedan buyers got greedy. They asked for more room, better features and increased horsepower. Toyota listened, building a larger Corolla with more standard features and a bigger engine. Now with gas prices at nearly $3 a gallon, those same buyers suddenly have a conscience. They've joined Greenpeace, bought hemp socks and started looking for smaller, cheaper and more fuel-efficient sedans. Cars like the Yaris.

"Toyota has dropped the ball - the cupholders are too small". Good grief. What about the popcorn tray? Or the handgun compartment? Only in the US.

I love my Golf GTI...I think all these new "green" cars like Yaris copied the Golf orignal design which still looks timeless till this day.

..anyway I love my Yaris. Interior layout is ingenious, utilisation of space is great, plenty of power and space. Road holding is confident and I think the ride is disciplined and smooth. Looks great too. Steering could be more involving but there is far worse out there!

Steriod guy this car is not small, just because it doesn't have a long boot attached to the cabin like a sedan doesn't mean its passenger space is limited. Far from it. Don't knock small car owners and their masculinity. They used INTELLIGENCE in their decision such as runnings costs, not ego and perceived masculinity. Chivalrous gentlemen don't need a big car. As the saying goes, the biggest mouths have the smallest minds

Modest too. Coming from someone that has actually sat in it I would say by looking at you yes you would fit in there, my 6 foot well built brother fits in my Yaris fine, just as well if not better than so some larger cars I have driven. Steriods can also cause severe mood swings and aggression problems too can't they?

The knobs controlling the heater / air conditioning / environmental system seem to be very cheaply made. It's not big deal, but they feel flimsy. The Toyota Yaris warranty is absolutely miserable! 3 years or 30,000 miles is still a brand-new car and it sucks that they don't offer the 100,000 mile warranty that is becoming more popular these days. They seem to be banking entirely on the fact that the company has developed a false-positive reputation for reliability.
