I can understand why you think so, but if you consider there is no direct drug reference the song can be about whatever sparks the imagination, or pushes you to new thought. It is most certainly about a state of mind or something that causes that 'new thought.' It might be about a drug, but a person, or conversation could just as easily be that spark! that push!
