lol did you get that from the Japanese lesson CD's? thats how I learned Japanese. Strangely enough, it fuggin worked O_O also remember Japanese pronounce words according to where that word originated from. Like "Hot dog" would be pronounced "hotto doggu" in Japanese. You can't say "Inu atsui"(literally means "hot dog" in Japanese) because the meaning is completely different(weird huh?) Like u said the game came from Japan so they pronounce it "mee-ree." "r" is pronounced like the "t" in "martyr"

well if you wanna go technical with this, "may-lay" AND "mee-lee" are BOTH incorrect. In the Japanese language, 2 "e"'s next to each other would NOT MAKE a high "E" sound. you just keep the same pitch sound for twice as much time. take "Kawai" and "Kawaii" for example. When you say "Kawai", it sounds like "kah-wah-ee" right? Now, when you say "Kawaii", the "e" in there sounds the same doesn't it? If you wana laugh out of this lesson, watch Gwen Stefani's "hollaback Girl" pronunciation's the same

... double e in japanese would be two "e" sounds (weak) with a space inbetween. So for foreign language purposes, they would use our pronunciation, which is "may-lay." Mee-lee is technically incorrect, but accent is accent and English doesn't have 100% correct pronunciation of everything.

If you want to get technical, it was originally supposed to be pronounced "mee lee". This is because the game was made in Japan. As we all know, The Japanese language is a lot different from the english language. But I think we can pronounce it however the fxck we want as long as the other person knows what we're talking about.
