Or hold down the Alt-Gr key (to the right of the spacebar) and the vowel over which you need to position a fada.

I can relate! I didn't go to a Gaelscoil but studied very intensively, so I too was nearly fluent at the Leaving Cert, but it faded very quickly after that. A couple of years later I started learning German, with the unfortunate effect that if I now try to say something as Gaeilge my sentence ends auf Deutsch! So glad that your accent is clear and understandable, though, unlike many of the (to my ears) impenetrable accents to be heard in the soap Ros Na Rún. Thanks for the vid, keep 'em coming!

so basically.. you've done a pointless video, very good. :) and if people on the train think they know you can understand them, i'm not sure they would give a fuck to be honest. i'm irish and i wouldn't give a fuck xD

Bhí mé sa Gaeltacht sa Meitheamh agus anois tá mé i mo chonaí ag ceap as Gaeilge. Níl mé ar feabhas ag caint as Gaeilge ach níl mé go huafasach freisín.Is aoibhinn liom Gaeilge agus tá bron orm nach bhfuil daoine ag caint é an t-am ar fád.Tá mo greammair (cád é an spelling* ar sin) go huafasach freisín.*Níl fhios agam gach focáil sa Gaeilge.Táim ó Baile Átha Cliath.
