I just saw this film and it make me sick to see how politicians, oil and car industry destroy the world. This is one of the biggest tragedies of our time. I swear by the universe that I will never by a car with internal combustion engine ever again. The EV1 was GM most beautiful and intelligent car ever - it hurts me to see them destroyed. The design of the new Volt is as interesting as watching my beard grow. I hope no one kills the Aptera and the Tesla. Boycott all SUVs and big sedans!

check ouy a clip on here with the title 'speed records white zombie'. it's about a street legal electric drag racecar that can smoke vipers, vettes and maserattis. the statement the designer makes about hotrodders reving their engines is the best.

That's because they knew it meant loosing billions at the expense of the repair and parts end of the business, well guess what? Because of their short sighted, greedy ways they may loose everything. Instead of being the leaders in the new auto market,WHICH THEY COULD HAVE BEEN, they will be left behind in shame. Don't believe it? well, IT'S ALREADY HAPPENED! We need Electric to rid ourselves of the Arabs, the Russians and the Texans. if you agree let me know.

Electric cars are nothing new..we had them in 1899 and in the 1900s,plus New York had a fleet of electric Taxis

it was a statement about the cost of operation of the electric car. the cost of operation for an electric is LIKE gas WAS 60 cents per gallon.

GM dropped the ball because of their greed. But the Chairman of the Clean Air Board in California is just as much a criminal for changing the law that originally forced the car companies to build electric cars. If GM, Ford and Chrysler don't get their act together soon and put electric cars on the road they may end up going out of business. It is like they want to break the backs of the public as well as their employees. They have the technology to build electric cars but they keep dragging.

You're right man! Not only will alternative fuels be more efficient for the people using them but the demand for petroleum based fuels will go down for those that are still using them. We all win.... oh wait except for the oil companies
bd189 (August 10, 2008 at 3:47 am)
what will drop oil prices? A: not war, not increased production in usa whether the 'anwr' or the badlands of the dakotas; why because if we increase OPEC decreases. if we make mass assembly line full electric car/trucks/suvs oil prices AUTOMATICALLY drop in order to COMPETE(REMEMBER HICHSCHOOL ECONOMICS CLASS? 5 products or companies equals lower prices due to price competition, where a monopoly equals WHATEVER THEY want to charge).

Just so you know, I have taken the bus, rode a bike for the past 10+ years. When I finally decided to get a new vehicle last year due to physical limitations, I bought a scooter that gets almost 120mpg and 1/8 the cost of insurance of any car. If there was an electric one did half of what they claim, I'd buy that.Just to screw the greedy bastards like GM and Exxon. |
