I love all those guitarist. I'd favor Greg Howe above Guthrie because I love his style a bit more, his new album is divine! But the truth is, there's no one better than another one IMO. The're all at such a high level. My top 3 would be Howe, Timmons, Gambale I think. But I also love Garsed and Govan very much. It depends on the day and te mood I'm in I guess :)

Wow some guy reconmened Brett in a Joe Satriani video and I gotta say Brett is no doubt a new favorite. He's Really got some clean bends

Glad you took it with great humour, I didn't want to start another Youtube war!I knew where you were coming from, but also know how versatile Brett is. He is one of the best out there and extremely melodic, which makes him one of the only fusion players I can listen too. And yes we all have a multitude of styles we like and play, and Brett is that way too. His frequently supports his wife who is a country rock artist, and he can then play through changes better than most too.Cheers :)

haha, touche.i know we all have a multitude of stylistic bents within us and I should have known this isn't the only stuff brett plays, but this hyper compressed sounding fusion stuff just sounds impotent to me.thanks for the reality check though; )

do guys who play this kind of music ever play gigs other than guitar clinics for a bunch of other guys.music needs to have romance in it, this has none. sorry folks. I don't know a single girl who would want to have this played for her.
