You fascinate me, S55. So bright and yet so dumb. You slag off stereotypes, yet your thinly veiled view of the English is so-o-o strereotypical. You spurt Irish pride, yet you accept that your place of birth is no more than fate. Most importantly Spike understood these things and he tackled them with humour, using wonderful irony and cynicism that you seem to completely miss. Such a shame.

Quite clearly your view of history is hopelessly slanted, just like the 'what have the Romans done for us?' sketch from Monty Python's 'Life of Brian'. I'm English and I can proudly see (in more recent times) the first country in history to keep promises and voluntarily give away an empire in the name of democracy. How tyrannical was that?

Spike had an Irish Passport and considered himself to be Irish so, other than being born in India and living in England, he was Irish. And hurray for that!
