cacoteixeira-I'm pretty familiar with Maracatu and I personally don't see the difference. I think the "familiarity" raulfist was mentioning comes from the uniqueness of the toe drummer. Very few actually good rock groups can change time signatures and use changing time accents and sound this good. Maracatu music generally have at least 5 drummers, so to say they are more "complex" is kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Dunno...

@raulfist: I think you meant "Maracatu".When the drums start, I could feel the resemblance, not too much though. The rhythm patterns for the drums and percussion in Maracatu are more complex.You can hear some searching for "Nação Zumbi".Bye!
