The goofy look John gets from the 1:50 to the 1:56 mark is hilarious! He just zones out! lmao

Good point! He's got form for 'unconventional' TV appearances he dramatically walked off the panel of BBC's Juke Box Jury twice cos the cameras failed to film him the 1st time around! A contrived, phony, empty and over dramatic pantomime dame who uses anti-social acts just to get publicity, can dish it out but not take it!

"Johnny Rotten is a real prick. He doesn't even know what he's talking about. The Sex Pistols were very important in the evolution of Punk, but Johnny Rotten is just playing himself. He's really hardcore...going on thr Tom Syner show...really anti-establishment. I wonder how much he payed for his outfit."( lol ) Good and amusing comment. He's a talented clown.

& they did reinvent music in a huge way; those early pil records still sound fresh & fucking amazing after all this time.plus, don't you get the feeling that some of the negative commentators are missing the humor in this exchange? some people don't seem to see that they were also obviously deliberately trying to get under snyder's skin, and succeeding mightily.snyder was being patronizing & lydon was having none of it. i think it's fucking hilarious.

the naysayers are missing the point of what lydon was doing. of course he's got a big ego & he can't drop old grudges, & he's not perfect. but he sticks by his convictions & really means what he says, even if he makes mistakes. you don't have to like him: & that's what is so excellent about this interview: he's not trying to be "tough" or "cool"; he's not trying please you. it's a breath of fresh air. plus, he's smart & funny. i'll take this over the clash/sid vicious dress-up posturing anyday.

he never ran from a fight and got into plenty, including being stabbed more than once. he would attack a whole gang if they gave him shit. he grew as an irish immigrant in london where the irish where loathed. he isn't a big guy, always watch out for short people they can hit u where it hurts

Always wanted to see this! I have the transcript, have seen it acted in Sid & Nancy, and have heard about it for so long!John and Keith are great - but without the bravado that Malcolm could bring, PiL was only praised for their records. And after Keith was out, even that couldn't survive.John's best interview is still 'Classic Albums - Never Mind The Bollocks'. I think he was having it with us all that time! LOL
