I think they are both awesome. I prefer Clevengers tone as I personally dislike vibrato in horn playing. That is a personal opinion and may not necessarily be shared by others.

What a wonderful, meditative piece, It's deep, grandiose. Brahms at his best. With 3 supreme players. I will listen to this many times. Thanks for posting!

I think this is my favorite movement of the piece, not that the other 3 movements are not incredible too.

One of the greatest slow movements of the 19th century. He plays with our sense of aural temporality by anticipating the finale hunting theme in the coda, but making it sound like a remembrance rather than an anticipation. Like a variation of a theme we haven't heard yet. Simply cosmic.
