The 9th Company (Russian: «9 рота») is a Russian / Finnish film by Fyodor Bondarchuk about the Soviet war in Afghanistan released in 2005. The film follows a band of young recruits from a farewell ceremony with friends and family back home, through their often brutal training in Uzbekistan's Fergana Valley, up to a bloody battle on a mountain top in Afghanistan against the mujahideen.9th COMPANY (french language) http://russianxfiles.blogspot....

yes i did mention it but what i want to know is why didn't you just say 'that's not right it's not accurate.' not bring in something which has no bearing on why i mentioned the film.i was just recommending a good film and war films are never accurate when someone says its accurate they mean its based on facts okay conversation over bye.

You did, not I. You're the one who mentioned "Glory".
sithmaster56a (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
okay but why did you bring up the american civil war
dockbillin (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
It says that your allegedly accurate "Days of Glory" is far from being as accurate as you claim it to be.

Taliban fought the Soviets?Sorry, no. The taliban were set up as a reaction to the crimes of the Mujahideen who fought the Soviets and the government of Najibullah. The warlords of the Mujahideen were so awful the Afghans initially welcomed even the taliban as liberators, when they took over kabul in 1996.

what relevance does that have to what i said

"Days of Glory" is exaggerated. believe it or not, more blacks fought on the CONFEDERATE side of the US civil war than on the Union side. And here were anti-black riots in New York.

yeah they were trying to show how bad it was there. not every war film is going to be completely accurate if you want one that's accurate watch assembly or days of glory
