The battle of Stirling was actually very different and more interesting. The Scots waited for the English to start crossing a bridge and when they were half way across they attacked (jolly unsporting old chap) and cut their army in half panicking the stranded foes. One half on the English army got to stand on the other side of the river watching the other half get slaughtered. It would have made a great scene.

Sons of Scotland, I am William Wallace. and I see before me an army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You have come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What would you do without freedom? Will you fight? And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom. wont all fit lol

Braveheart was the name given to King Robert the Bruce. On his death bed he asked his heart to be removed and taken to the Holy Land on a crusade. Sir James Douglas did so with the heart in a silver casket.Sir James was killed fighting the Moors at Teba in Spain. The heart was returned and buried at Melrose Abbey.

Judging Braveheart historically is just silly. If you're caught up on 'historical inaccuracies' then you've missed the point of the movie. And if you've missed the point of the movie...then I pity you, because it has a wonderful message.

History is often relative to perspective. You hit the nail on the head with longshanks. Unfortunately the amount of film it would take to do all these people justice just wont ever happen. I think hes the most overlooked in this film. Would be a great ally and a terrible enemy |
