Piquet won 4 races on FW11 in 1986 and 3 races on FW11B in 1987 (and also that year's championship). FI(S)A restrictions limited the engines' power in 1987. Regards.

i really beliueve that perhaps you are talking about the williams fw11 but i dont know because piquet on this machine won three races

Yes, I do. I mentionated the year because that season race refueling was forbidden and RsPM were limited to 12000. Nevertheless FW11 became the most powerfull and the fastest (with no important aerodinamic limitations) F1 car for various seasons. To optimize the performance it only need ground-effect.

you mean the williams fw11?
JMRRF (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Nowadays F1s arent so powerful (engines have about 330hp/dc, not 935hp/dc) but became faster: Williams 1986 ran 0-300km/h within 9,4s, Renault 2005 ran 0-300km/h within 8,6s. But the fuel engine isnt ecologic at all, so by the year 2030 well probably have electric ones and the development will be made around this technology. :)

The qualifying engine produced 1300hp, but the race one detuned only about 700hp. The most powerful was Williams-Honda 1986 (1400hp at 12000rpm); similary the race one produced about 800hp. These turbo machines had only 1500cc and spended 200L of fuel in a 300km race - RsPM couldn't be very high not to blow within that distance, so the race car's power was allways lower. Regards.
