well hahaha i performed salpury again and i learned the meaning of the dancein the beginning, the dancer is in mourning for someone or people who died an unfair or unjust or just indescribly horrible deathshe does not understand, she is fustrated, sad, depressed, and just confusedd she doesnt know what to do because she is so mad and sad at the same timebut when she lets go of the towel and at 1:50 this is when she lets go of the death. "sal" in korean means death "pury" means to let go :]

Isn't salpuri a sad dance? Why is it that the dancer project a subtle smile?

i love the expression thats something i could never really grasp. i have a question for the dancer. what were you thinking of to portray that expression?i once performed salpury and will again soon. but i cannot properly contain my expression.

Elegant and compelling. The music, which to Western ears carries a tinge of avant-garde feel, accompanies in such an extraordinary way the floating eloquence of the dancer. Thank you!

환상 그 자체! fantastic! No western art dare to compare to this. This ain't just art but undoubtedly gift from the God. |
