the nail polish remover does not work but clear nail polish does.. you can do the same with the striker... if your going to dip that matches in wax its better to do the whole thing, cus if you leave any wood exposed it will suck the water up like a wick and ruin your match.... best of luck...

I over came this problem like eastscout. I just carry a bic lighter with me. Go to Walmart and buy yourself a 4 pack of lighters for just $1.99 and keep one in your car and one in your pocket.

carry a lighter..They will last longer than your box of matches and will light when wet...wrap a few rubber bands around the lighter if you need to start a fire in wet conditions. The rubber will burn even when wet.. |
