You need to take into account that some cultural perspectives can be "lost in translation" since there is a degree of difference between japanese society and "western" society. This makes it hard to say outright that we are getting the same experiance of the original audience since certain concepts that would be understood in a japanese audience might not be so understandable to a english audience. Just a thought.

Well if you dislike group "status" that much, then why are you calling yourself Otaking, like you are proud of your otakuness, and that you are the king of otakuness?I mean if I was a subtitler and I'd have some street name like WetBoy, of course I'd flash it in some stylish font in the opening although not with such massive letters and without trying to match it with the show title etc. and rather just do it with clear separating color and font style.

even though i don't agree on part 2 i have to agree on the glowing fonts, those really annoy me aswell. but i don't really give a fuck about side notes or their name on the opening.

And they were doing it for free back in the early 90s too. But they'd put their name in plain small font at the end of the show.

I understand the flashy subs being annoying, but complaining about fansub groups showing their names stylishly in the opening like you showed? They are doing this for free after all...

Man you sure talk a lot of bullshit. Fansubbers put their names in the credits for epenis. They do not sub stuff to bring attention to anything. Groups that used to sub for that reason have long since died.You are an idiot if you think anything you said is anything more than horse shit.

I think that the fansubbers "crowbar" their names onto the opening sequence as a way of saying "this has been fansubbed, it is not a professional translation, so if you paid for it, go complain". And why shouldn't they have some credit? They're bringing it to the attention of new audiences, encouraging them to release dubbed anime over here, where it can get the creators more money. A few words in a flashy font giving them some recognition is their "payment" for this. Maybe I'm wrong.
