@OboeMaster: His tone is awesome, and the way he uses it! I know of no oboist with such a mastery over dynamics. Much better than the dull and foggy sound many other soloists produce. Holliger's sound is maybe not good for playing a tear-jerker solo in a romantic symphony, but it's refreshing and beautiful.
