The Ilaga was a response to Muslim atrocities against Christians in Mindanao in the 70's. Marcos encouraged them to help the army crush out the muslims. But the Ilaga are as brutal as the Moros themselves. They were not bound by any rules of engagement. They are a lose bandit group who claim to be christians.
